Chain of Responsibility
The Chain of Responsibility refers to the chain of people involved in transporting goods by road.
REMONDIS naturally conducts its business in compliance with all relevant National and State laws, regulations and guides. Under Chain of Responsibility legislation and practices, every person is held accountable for conduct that affects compliance in a transport operation and may be deemed liable in the event of a breach of legislation through their actions or inactions.
REMONDIS recognises its various roles within the Chain of Responsibility and has developed policies, procedures and system checks to facilitate compliance. We consult with other parties in the transport chain – including our clients, suppliers and contractors – to achieve full compliance.
We’re committed to the following actions and practices:
Driver Fatigue
Scheduling and monitoring of rest breaks and work hours, training and awareness sessions for relevant workers
Driver Health
Requiring medicals equivalent to Assessing Fitness to Drive standards, programs encouraging health and wellbeing of workers
Speeding
Monitoring by on board truck computers and limiters, policies, procedures and ongoing education
Mass Management
Axle and gross mass management, vehicle specific load patterns, load sheets, weight verification and route scheduling
Vehicle Dimension
Vehicle and load compliance, route scheduling, policies, procedures and training for workers
Load Restraining
Providing appropriate restraint equipment, load monitoring, policies, procedures and training for workers
Preventive Vehicle Maintenance and Vehicle Repair
All vehicles are inspected, maintained and repaired in-line with manufacturer’s requirements by qualified workers
Training
Chain of Responsibility is incorporated within induction and refresher training for all relevant workers
