Asbestos is a hazardous building material that was commonly used in building construction up until the late 1980s. It can be found in all sorts of materials including cement sheeting (‘fibro’), floor tiles/roof sheeting, pipes, insulation, sound proofing materials and in dust from ventilation collection systems or brake linings.
Since 2003, the use of asbestos products has been banned throughout Australia, but if a building was built before the late 1980s there’s a high chance the property contains asbestos.
When asbestos is crumbled and released into the air, it can cause cancer and other health conditions, so it is particularly dangerous during renovations or demolition of buildings and needs to be handled and removed by a professional and certified asbestos specialist.
Who uses our asbestos removal services?
Retail // Commercial Property & Facilities // Construction and Demolition
Specialised staff will completely enclose any areas with asbestos and put on respirators before they remove the affected material.
After the asbestos is safely removed, it’s taken to a licenced disposal facility, where it is safely disposed of following government-mandated hazardous waste protocols. Asbestos-containing materials must not be recycled or re-used.
