Electronic waste (or e-waste) is loosely defined as waste that uses a power source or batteries in order to function.
These items – which include computers, laptops, screens, mobile phones, remotes, hard drives, white goods, e-bikes, batteries, wiring, fluorescent light bulbs, CDs and DVDs – typically contain valuable recyclable metals including steel, gold, aluminium, brass or copper.
Who uses our e-waste recycling services?
Retail // Commercial Property & Facilities // Education // Health & Aged Care
After your e-waste is collected, it is often transported to a specialised Transfer Station where the e-waste is sorted into categories. It’s then taken to a certified recycling facility where each item is taken apart and recycled by material type.
Recycling e-waste is often a manual, labour-intensive process, but is an important step in a sustainable circular economy.
Some forms of e-waste – including batteries – are dangerous if stored or transported improperly. REMONDIS designed and patented a lithium battery storage system called RETRON to solve this problem.
